First of all, it gives me a great pleasure to welcome you to the Management Development Training Program of the Somali Region College of Management & Public Service for the year 2018/19. The college of management & public service, established by Proclamation No26/94 E.C, is discharging core missions including short term management and leadership development trainings; consultancy, research, and community services; and long-term academic programs from diploma to first degree.
The short term training management and leadership development in service trainings are designed and being offered to promote the skills, knowledge, and values of lower and middle level managers and leaders as well as civil servants as per the demands of the respective customers. Adequate infrastructures and institutional frameworks are organized up to the required standard in facilitating the in service trainings.
The research and community services are also being provided in the college for both internal and external consumptions. Internally, the research outputs have been used in modernizing and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the in service trainings, and it will also continue strengthening the overall operations of the long term trainings. Regarding external consumptions of our research outputs, we have designed systems which pave the way for transferring our research and technology outputs to the regional sectors and respective localities.
With an informed interest in capacitating the human capital development of the Somali Regional State in particular, the college is working hard in launching academic programs from first level degrees. The academic programs at all the three levels are also expected to add values to the efficiency and effectiveness of the short term management and leadership trainings. In this regard, our graduates in the short term management and leadership development training programs will highly be encouraged and even be supported to join in to our long term academic programs. Special scholarships will be awarded to those who are able to have strong academic scores and sound disciplinary records in our short term trainings.
Generally, the college is working tirelessly in enhancing the region’s human capital development, which we strongly believe is the key factor for ensuring the comprehensive transformation of the region. Hence, kindly be informed that we are all the time ready to serve you.
