Somali Regional Management\nand Public Service College was established in 1994 E.C. with proclamation no\n26\/1994. It was established with the triple role of building the capacity of\nthe civil servants through provision of short and long term trainings,\nproviding consultancy services and conducting problem solving researches.\nBefore the issuance of this proclamation, with financial support from the\nUnited Nations Development Program (UNDP) a training centre for woreda\nofficials was established. The buildings of this training centre were later\nhanded over to the Institute after it was formally incepted in 1994. <\/span><\/p>\n\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:18.0pt;line-height:107%\">Since its inception, the Institute\nhas been playing a decisive role in the socio-economic and political\ndevelopment of the region. The college has embarked on delivering various\ndemand-driven long term and short term trainings both at regional and Woreda\nlevels. Initially, the key target area of the college was filling the gap in\nthe areas of technical, managerial and administrative skills through short term\ntraining; according to the new proclamation, the college is mandated to improve\nthe capacity of human resource found in governmental institutions by giving due\nattention to women and human resource working at regional and district level.\nIt is the basic and fundamental pillar of the college; by and large, <\/span><\/p>\n\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:18.0pt;line-height:107%\">The college of management\n&amp; public service which is one of the main public institutions of Somali\nregion had experienced a lot of problems in the area of civil servant capacity\nbuilding but now this problem is solved particularly the successive\nachievements for the recent years in which tremendous activities taken place\nlike conducting &amp; delivering trainings on good governance &amp; leadership\ntrainings, basic managerial skills, monitoring and evaluation and skill up\ntraining. <\/span><\/p>\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:0in;margin-right:2.9pt;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:.5in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:18.0pt;line-height:107%\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:18.0pt;line-height:107%\">After recent reforms in Somali region\nthat resulted into a new government and the associated new staff at both\nregional and woreda levels; it has been realized the need for capacity building\ntraining on management and public administration aspects at level of the\ngovernment staff.&nbsp; Somali Region Management\n&amp; Public Service College aimed to improve the capacity of civil servant\nthrough Training need based, Research &amp; Consultancy service and prepare\nthem providing better service delivery system throughout the region at large in\nterms of access and quality in order to answer the question of maintaining good\ngovernance at all level of the region<\/span><\/p>\n\n<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>College Overview History of the college Somali Regional State consists of eleven administrative zones which are further divided into 95 woredas (Districts) and six city administrations.
